This spring I'll make a cello and a violin, more pictures from the process will be published soon. Have a look at the violin I finished just before Christmas, it's based on the "Alard" del Gesú (1742). This model has become really popular among my clients. It's short, but wide, producing an open, rich and projecting sound. The new owner has already played it for a while, and is very happy.

Check out the Launch Pad in the latest issue of the magazine "The Strad" (Nov. 2007), with a small article about me. The article will be available on this website mid-december. We're getting closer to Christmas, and looking back on 2007, it has been an exciting and busy year. I'm now working on my fifth violin so far this year. And the viola I just finished, got really good feedback from musicians here in Oslo. Have a look at the photo on the left.
--------------------- The Stavanger Festival this year was great! I had lots of work to do, and enjoyed many of the evening concerts. It also gave me the opportunity to see some really nice old italian instruments like Stradivari, Amati and Guarneri. The violin I brought to the US this summer was just sold to a freelancer in New York who has been waiting for her instrument for 1 1/2 year. Now I am back at work in Oslo, just finishing my fourth violin so far this year.
----------------------- Also this year I have the pleasure of being the violinmaker of the Stavanger International Chamber Music Festival. From 6th to 12th August I will be in Stavanger to help with anything concerning your violin, viola or cello. You will also be able to try one of my instruments or a bow, or buy a new Italian case for your violin. You can find me at the Katedralskolen/Kongsgård near Domkirken. Welcome!

The trip to Manchester was very rewarding, and there was a lot of interest in my cellos. Right now I am finishing a violin that I am going to bring to the US this summer. In the end of June I will spend two weeks at the well-known Oberlin Violinmaking Workshop in Ohio, working with colleagues from all over the world. We're having a great time together sharing ideas and experience, this is actually the fourth time I am participating.

I have now finished my latest cello. The cello is a modified pattern of F. Ruggeri (Cremona, c. 1680), which combines a rich lower register with a clear and projecting upper register. This is the 3rd cello I am building on this pattern. See photo to the left.

I will stay in Kristiansand 27.th - 29.th of October 2006. In that period I am going to have a small workshop where I will do sound adjustments, normal maintenance and bring some of my instruments. The workshop will be situated at Hotel Norge, Dronningens gate 5, Kristiansand, Ground floor.
