For some violin makers, the journey ends when the instrument is finished. Not for me. This is when the adventure begins. The violin spends little time in the workshop, compared to the many hundreds of years it will be played. A fascinating and important thought. My task is that the violin should always respond to your wishes and development over time. Not just today, but in five or twenty years. <\/span> I have built this violin over my own personal von der Lippe model, perfected over a decade. All the experience I have acquired in the construction of over sixty instruments has been fused into this violin. My goal is always to create a violin that is harmonically rich, warm and projecting, and that gives you as a musician the opportunity to express your personality. The violin is made with a top in Italian alpine spruce and back, ribs and neck in European flamed maple. Since we live in a modern age, I have been using Corene<\/a> <\/span>fretboard (not ebony) and Knelling Planetary tuning screws. Forget pegs that lose their grip or snap. That time is over. On later occasions I have compared the violin with the older Italian, where von der Lippe’s instrument carries better and stronger than the Italian, -in a blind test with several musicians present. The violin projects sound in a way that fills the room without being perceived as strenuous. It has a rich and warm sound in all registers, while being easy to play and articulate.
