It is with great pleasure that I continue my collaboration with the talented violin maker Vik Vandamme. He worked in my workshop in 2019, and will build this cello for me this spring, based on my well-proven personal cello model. The cello is built from well-stocked materials from my extensive inventory; Italian Alpine spruce, a beautiful solid Italian willow back, European flame maple sides and a maple neck that is elegantly jointed on the willow fingerboard. You can see a picture of the wood at the top of this post.<\/p>\n

The cello is being built in Vik’s workshop in Belgium under close supervision by the undersigned. He will also varnish the cello with my own oil varnish in addition to rigging it up ready to play. This is the instrument for those who want the taste of a von der Lippe cello, but at a very nice price. Six Norwegian cellists already enjoy cellos built by Vik every day.
