Cello for rent
Cello built by Jacob von der Lippe, Oslo 1997/2012. The cello pictured on this page is available for hire. I built it in the last school year in Cremona (1997). It is built on the model of “Sleeping Beauty” (Domenico Montagnana) which gives a rich and full sound.
The rental price includes a sturdy BAM cello case, a cello bow, insurance, and normal maintenance.
Rental prices:
1 month: NOK 4,500 incl. VAT
1 week: NOK 2,000 incl. VAT
24 hours: NOK 560 incl. VAT
For rentals longer than 1 month, contact us for a quote. The cello has previously been rented to Global Oslo Music , Ultima and visiting cellists from around the world. See below. Send me an email if you want to rent the cello.

James Halsey studied cello with Eileen Croxford at the Royal College of Music. Today he is a cellist in the Bingham String Quartet and Tagore String Trio. He was also a cellist in the Dartington Piano Trio. He is a sought-after teacher, and several of his former students are cellists in professional string quartets. He is a professor of cello at the North East Scotland Music School and the Royal College of Music Junior Department and is the director of the Aboyne Cello Festival. Photo: Sanja Dukanac
