It is with great pleasure that I continue my collaboration with the talented violin maker Vik Vandamme. He worked in my workshop in 2019, and during the last six months he has made this cello for me. The cello is made from materials from my stock; Italian Alpine spruce, a beautiful one piece poplar back, European flame maple ribs and a maple neck that is elegantly joined to the poplar scroll.
The cello was made in Vik’s workshop in Belgium under close follow-up by yours truly. He has also varnished the cello with my own oil varnish. The cello was set up by Jacob von der Lippe, and has a dark and full tone over the entire register.
The cello is set up with Spirocore Wolfram C + G and Larsen Soloist A + D. This is the instrument for those who want the taste of a von der Lippe cello, but at a very competetive price. Three Norwegian cellists already enjoy cellos built by Vik every day.
Feel free to click through the pictures below to see more of the cello. Get in touch if you want to try the cello, it can also be borrowed home by agreement for up to two weeks.
