In order for the violin making profession to be brought forward, I regularly welcome young talents in the profession. The newest addition is Ilze de Ligt from the Netherlands. She has just completed her violin maker training at ILSA in Belgium and worked with me for two months in autumn 2023. During that period she made this violin. She interpreted my personal von der Lippe model, and put in an impressive effort. The result is very good both soundwise and in terms of craftsmanship.

The violin is made from first-class wood; Italian alpine spruce, a beautiful maple back, sides and neck in European flamed maple. The fingerboard is made of the innovative material Corene, and the tuning pegs of the revolutionary type of Knelling Planetary Pegs. The violin is varnished and set up up by yours truly. This is the instrument for those who want the taste of a von der Lippe violin at a very competetive price. In the pictures below, you can see how exactly this violin was created with Ilze’s expert hands and new knowledge.
