My instruments are played daily by musicians in, among others, the Norwegian Opera & Ballet, the Broadcasting Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, and students at most music institutions in Norway. In addition to many freelancers and educators throughout the country. A cello and a violin have been purchased by Dextra Musica, and are lent to music students at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Helgelandsfondet has bought a violin that is lent to local talents.

Jacob von der Lippe has, at my request, made a copy of the instrument that I have owned since 1970; a violin made by the Italian violin maker Joseph Guarneri del Gesú in 1742 in Cremona.

“Jacob von der Lippe has, at my request, made a copy of the instrument I have owned since 1970; a violin made by the Italian violin maker Joseph Guarneri del Gesú in 1742 in Cremona. Guarneri del Gesú is one of the very best of all time. violin makers, yes there are many who believe that he surpasses all. Jacob von der Lippe has managed to make a copy of very good quality. There is naturally a fresher and more modern sound in the copy, partly because the tree but he has succeeded in creating a breeding ground for a sound rich in overtones in both weak and strong shades. And although the sound will always be the most important for the performer, Jacob von der Lippe has also created a beautiful violin that is strikingly similar to the original. “

“Thank you for the copy you made of my Guiseppe Guarneri del Gesu 1742 (ex Lord Emhurst of Hackney). Your copy is truly a fabulous piece of work! Your violin has a glow and shine in the tone that I really appreciate, and the tone is round and full at the same time. A combination that I would think is difficult to achieve. The instrument sets the tone very easily, but you can, if you want, dig deep into the strings and get more back all the time.

In appearance it is simply magnificent. The paint is beautiful, and it looks like my original to a dot. Thank you very much for a great job, and good luck with your instruments! “

I simply love this violin and would not exchange it for anything. It has a very appealing sound: light, singing, lots of overtones, modular – it has both warmth and edge, and is even over the whole register. In addition, it’s incredibly easy to play, always in a good mood, and is not changing with the weather.
